For individuals

Website monitoring for freelancers, sole traders and developers

One person, a few sites, the same blind spot. Check that the sites you run still take bookings, enquiries and payments, and get the evidence when they do not.

Who it suits

Worth it when a site you run takes money, bookings or enquiries

  • Freelancers and sole traders

Your site is how new work arrives. When a form breaks, work stops arriving and it looks like a quiet month, not a fault.

Typical checks: Send an enquiry, book a call, pay an invoice

  • Developers looking after a few sites

Check the contact form or checkout on each site you maintain, and get the failing step and evidence in one place instead of hearing about it from the owner.

Typical checks: Each client's enquiry form, checkout or sign-in

  • Creators and side projects that sell online

Courses, downloads, tickets or a small shop run on platforms you do not control. Check that someone can pay and receive what they bought.

Typical checks: Buy a product, register for an event, download a purchase

How it works for one person

Describe the task, approve the steps, get an email when it breaks

  • Describe the task in plain language, such as "send an enquiry from the contact page".
  • Review the proposed steps and checks, and approve them before anything runs.
  • When it breaks, the email names the step, what still works and the evidence to send on.

The Starter plan includes

  • 5 checks, run as often as every 15 minutes
  • Website and API checks
  • 30 days of evidence

Questions

Website monitoring for individuals: common questions

Can an individual use ScoutSentinel without a company?

Yes. An account can be an organisation of one, so a freelancer, sole trader or developer can have an account in their own name and check the sites they are responsible for. While signup is closed, accounts are opened through the pilot.

Is it worth it for a personal site?

Only if the site has a task to complete, such as an enquiry, a booking or a payment. For a blog or portfolio with nothing to complete, a simple uptime check tells you as much.

Can I check sites I look after for clients?

Yes, for sites you are responsible for or have the owner's permission to test. Checks visit the site as a customer would and identify themselves, so the owner can recognise and allow them.

Will I be alerted at three in the morning about nothing?

Alerts follow the rules you set, and related results are combined into one event, so you hear about a task customers cannot complete, not every slow response. A result we could not check is marked unknown, never a failure.

Check the sites you are responsible for

Pick the customer task that matters most, set up its check, run it and see the evidence, then test your alert. Free 14-day pilot by invitation. No card required. Starter limits apply unless we agree a scoped one-service evaluation.
